Vice-Rector for Foreign Students of the People's Friendship University of Russia, Angela Dolzhikova, said that the Russian authorities have developed the first version of integrated test in Russian language, history and basic rights for migrants seeking a Russian residence permit.

In tests on the history and basics of law in Russia, she said, there will be five new open-ended questions, the answers to which foreigners will need to enter themselves. The lexical minimum for visitors wishing to live in Russia will be increased to 1,250 words, while the limit for migrant workers will remain the same - 950 Russian words.

Tests in the new format visitors are due to begin from July 1, 2015.

The advanced part will consist of two parts - the general part of the exam will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions, and an additional part for those who are going to apply for residency.
