The Sociology Department of the Russian Governmental Financial University has released an assessment of the poverty level in 35 largest cities of Russia. The lowest poverty level was fixed in Grozny and Krasnoyarsk, 9% each, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
The highest poverty level is in Volgograd (21%), followed by Lipetsk, Penza, Saratov and Yaroslavl. Volgograd has a low-income level of 66%. Most poor people are pensioners, unemployed, service workers, soldiers, law enforcers and security guards.
The lowest level of low-income people are in Moscow (50%), the highest in Naberezhnye Chelny (70%).
