The Russian patriarchy considers the attack on a Ingush church an
attempt to augment inter-ethnic tensions, Yuga.ru reports.
On the night of November 22, unknown assailants shot at the dome of an
Orthodox church in the Ordzhonikidzevskaya Cossack village with a
grenade launcher. No one was injured, but the dome was damaged.
The head of the patriarchy press-service, arch-priest Vladimir
Vigilyanskiy, said that he believes that the attackers are trying to
start inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflicts.
Vigilyanskiy said that Muslims and Orthodox Christians have always
been living together in North Caucasus and in Russia in general. The
country has never had religious conflicts, he said.
