Teachers admit guilt for drowned pupils of Yeya Spit

Teachers responsible for children admitted guilt for six drowned
pupils and a teacher in court, Yuga.ru reports.


The 6 children drowned in the Yeya Firth of the Azov Sea, off Yeya
Spit on July 7. The pupils were staying at the ‘Azov’
health-improvement camp.


According to the prosecution service of Krasnodar Territory, two
groups of 63 Moscow pupils, supervised by Ryabova and Bagryantsev,
arrived at the camp in July 2010. On July 7, 2010, they were on an
excursion at the Yeya Spit. Their teacher allowed them to swim in the
sea. The weather deteriorated suddenly. The children were swept away,
six of them and a teacher trying to save them drowned. One pupil
suffered severe bodily injuries.


Irina Ryabtseva, deputy head of the Moscow ‘Health School’ N1065, from
which the children had come, was accused of negligence leading to the
deaths of two or more people and Alexey Bagryantsev, a Geography and
Economics teacher, was accused of negligence leading to severe bodily
injuries.

The first session of the Yeysk City Court hearing into the case has
taken place this morning. The court press service said that they
admitted their guilt and requested a special procedure of the case.
