Two people were killed and 40 were injured when a Dagestan Airlines plane skidded of the runway at Moscow's Domodedovo airport during an emergency landing, RIA Novosti reports.
The aircraft departed for the southern Russian city of Makhachkala from Moscow's Vnukovo airport at 2.07 pm Moscow Time (11.07 GMT). The pilots were forced to make an emergency landing at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport after all three of its engines failed. The Tu-154 plane was slightly damaged after it skidded off the runway during landing.
The process of trancribing black box records has already begun. Russian investigators are considering crew error, pre-flight technical faults and technical failures during the flight as the main three versions for the crash, Trend reports.
"Investigators have seized pre-flight documentation and other materials on the pre-flight preparation of the Tu-154 plane. A preliminary study suggests that the crew took a decision to fly with two technical faults aboard the plane," a source said.
