Israel police official Mickey Rosenfeld said that a forest fire, that
started in the north and killed over 40 people, has been extinguished,
Reuters reports.
The fire in Haifa is considered the largest fire in the history of
Israel. The international community, including Russia, Azerbaijan and
Turkey, were asked to help in putting it out.
On Sunday people were allowed to return to three villages. The
fire-fighters say the rain helped put out the fire.
Haifa is the largest city in the north of Israel, located in the
Karmel mountains, with a population of 250,000. 41 people, officers
who were trying to help their colleagues, burned in a bus.
