Dagestan Airlines have urged the media to report reliable facts on the
emergency landing of the Tu-154, belonging to the airlines, on
Saturday in Moscow. The airline released a special press statement,
which stated that "it is too early to talk about the reasons which
caused a simultaneous failure of all the engines."
Dagestan Airlines believe that calls to abandon the Tu-154 model are
not well-based.
Dagestan Airlines have been operating since 1927. Saturday's plane
crash is the airline's first crash since 1989, when a Mi-8 helicopter
crashed in Kabardino-Balkaria
The Tu-154 of Dagestan Airlines, en route from Moscow to Makhachkala,
made an emergency landing on the 4th of December at Domodedovo
Airport. During the landing all the engines stopped operating. On
board were 163 passengers and nine crew members. Two people were
killed and over 80 injured.
