Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that extremism should be
prevented whereever it appeared. He was answering a question about
events at Manezh Square in Moscow on Saturday, during his annual Q&A
session.
He said that the Russian citizens of Slavic appearance should not live
in fear in the North Caucasus. Natives from all regions should feel
comfortable wherever they live. All the citizens should realize that
they belong to one country.
Russia initially formed as a multinational and multi-confessional
country, Putin emphasized.
