Iran and Iraq sign memorandum on raising medical standards for pilgrims

The Red Crescent Associations of Iraq and Iran have signed a
memorandum in Iraq on mutual understanding on raising the standards of
medical services for pilgrims from both countries, Press TV reports.
Iraqi health minister Madjid Muhammad Amin, who was a signatory to the
agreement,  expressed hope that his country could use Iranian
experience in the healthcare sector.

Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims, mostly Iranians, arrive in Iraq
every year to take part in Shi’ite festivals in Nadjaf, where the tomb
of imam Ali is located, and Kerbala, where his son and mother and the
prophet Mohammad’s grandson Hussein are interred.
