Iranian nuclear physicist murder suspect admits Israeli intelligence link

One of the men suspected of murdering Iranian nuclear physicist
Massoud Ali Mohammadi, said live on state TV that he was trained at a
military base in Israel, RIA Novosti cites IRNA.

Professor Mohammadi of Tehran University died near his home in Tehran
on 12 November 2010. The nuclear physicist was killed by a bomb near
his car in a motorbike. State media reported that he was one of the
leading nuclear physicists in the country.

Majid Jamali Fash gave details of his training.

He said that it took them 30 minutes to reach the military base from
Tel-Aviv, located on the Tel-Aviv - Beit al-Mukaddas road.

He said that he was taught discreet surveillance, methods of escaping
surveillance, extreme driving and stealth mining of vehicles.

Iranian media reported that an espionage network was revealed. An
official of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ramin
Mehmanparast, said that the investigation saw traces of the US and
Israeli intelligence services in the case. He said that such actions
will not stop the Iranian nuclear program.

The US State Department called such accusations absurd. The USA and a
set of Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear arms on the
back of its peaceful nuclear program. Tehran denies the accusations,
saying that the program is aimed at fulfilling demands in electricity.

The UN Security Council passed the fourth resolution against Iran in
June 2010, due to Tehran's refusal to fulfil its international
obligations and clarify issues related to its nuclear program,
including military aspects.
