Ramadan starts with helping victims of fire in Russia

Today, the 11th of August, marks the start of?the Muslim month of fast and prayer, RIA Novosti reports.
Ramadan is one of the 5 crucial events for a Muslim. Fasting during Ramadan is obligatory for all Muslims, helping to strengthen faith and self-discipline. From dawn to dust they do not eat food, try not to swear and keep their soul away from bad thoughts. Only pregnant women, the ill, children and warriors during wars can avoid Ramadan, but they have to complete the ritual later if possible.
In Russia, the day before the holy month started, a decision was made by the department of social and spiritual work of the Mufti Council of Russia to collect aid for the victims of fires. According to the latest information, 52 people have been killed in fires that are now burning in 22 regions of Russia. 472 people have needed medical help. 1,900 houses have been destroyed, 3,500 people have been made homeless. Everything collected will be given to the department of social defense of the Citizens of Moscow and then to the victims.
