The Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 will cost 185 billion rubles, 80 billion from state funds, the rest from private investment, the deputy chairman of Russian government Dmitry Kozak told journalists on Friday as part of his visit to Sochi, RIA Novosti reports.
He said that he sees positive progress in Sochi. People that have moved to new houses are happy. Independent experts of the Olympic Committee give very high rating of the work, Kozak said.
He reported that they are planning to spend an estimated 12 billion rubles on resettling civilians, but there were still a lot of problems to solve. For example, the road to the port of "Sochi Imeretinskiy" is municipal and needs repairing, but the city has no money for that purpose.
Kozak said that they had resolved issues of customs, border controls and bureaucratic procedures, and may mark completion of the process of simplifying customs and border procedures.
