Russia to revive health resorts

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev believes that health resorts may be reopened, Anapa Mayor Tatyana Yevsikova said at a meeting with the president in Moscow today, RIA Novosti reports.

Medvedev said that governor of Stavropol Territory had a similar proposition, but an inspection was not fulfilled.

Vice-Premier Dmitry Kozak was ordered to work on the issue.

Medvedev supports Yevsikova’s proposal to inspect the functioning of sanatoriums belonging to the Interior Ministry, FSB and the Defense Ministry. Some state resorts are half-abandoned, they may be handed to municipalities, she said.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, head of the administration of Zarechny City in Penza Region, proposed simplification of the law on recognizing transport as abandoned.

Medvedev said that simplifying the law would be a complicated process. However, abandoned vehicles may be transported to special parking lots that do not need security.
