The State Council of China has awarded Georgia the status of tourist country, Trend says with reference to the Georgian Foreign Ministry and the National Tourism Administration of China.
"This decision will significantly increase the number of Chinese tourists and contribute to the deepening of cooperation between Georgia and China in the sphere of tourism," the Foreign Ministry of Georgia mentioned in its statement.
China's population, according to recent data, is more than 1.3 billion people.
