‘Summer Day in the Mountain Pavilion’ exhibition opens at State Museum of Oriental Art (photo report)

Today, within the framework of the 4th Festival of Chinese Gongbi Painting Technique, the exhibition ‘Summer Day in the Mountain Pavilion’ opened at the State Museum of the Oriental Art. The exposition presents about 100 art objects: 90 paintings and scrolls created in the ancient gongbi technique by contemporary artists from Russia and China. The gongbi style originated during the Han Dynasty, in the 2nd century BC. Its characteristic features are well-contoured details, splendor and decorativeness. The exhibition also features works in the mogu, Shan shui techniques and handpainted silk fans.
