The finals of zurkhaneh team competition of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games have ended in Baku. The best results were shown by athletes from Iran, while Azerbaijani team came second. Wrestlers from Iraq and Afghanistan received bronze medals.
Zurkhaneh is a sport, which is based on traditional wrestling techniques. It appeared in the Middle Ages. As a sport, it originally appeared in Iran, but recently it has also become popular in other countries. Zurkhaneh Federation was established in Azerbaijan to develop it. It is supported by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
