On November 20th, the Seven Beauties exhibition opened in the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Art in Moscow. The event was organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture, and the Azerbaijani Carpet Museum. Supervisors of the project is Culture and Art Advisor of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Emin Mamedov, and Director of the Azerbaijani Carpet Museum, Head of the ICOM National Committee of Azerbaijan, Shirin Melikova.
The concept of the exhibition is based on a poem Seven Beauties by Nizami Ganjavi, an Azerbaijani poet and intellectual of the 12th century, and a ballet of the same title by the worldwide known composer Kara Karayev. The project presents the Azerbaijani culture as synthesis of the carpet art, jewellery, miniature, classic national music, classic dance, and contemporary art.
