In Moscow, the State Museum of Oriental Art hosts an exhibition “From the banks of the Nile to the banks of the Kama”, presenting ancient Egyptian mummies from the Perm State Art Gallery.
The mummies belonged to Egyptians who lived in the 3rd and 1st centuries BC, while the sarcophagi belong to earlier periods of Egyptian history. Probably, the mummies of people who lived during the Ptolemaic dynasty were placed in sarcophagi of suitable size in one of the antique shops in Luxor or Cairo.
