An exhibition ”Earth Metamorphoses: Japanese Unglazed Yakishime Pottery" opened at The State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow.
Yakishime is one of the most basic means to produce ceramics. The products are not glazed but simply fired at a high temperature. The exhibition tells about the development of this type of art, which followed its own path in Japan from its inception to the present day and has remained unchanged since the Middle Ages.
