Last weekend in Kaluga, the opening of the project "Kaluga - the New Year's capital of Russia" took place.
In 2021, the 60-year anniversary of the first human spaceflight will be celebrated, and Kaluga is considered "the cradle of astronautics." Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky, an outstanding researcher, a prominent rocket, aviation, and cosmonautics scientist, lived in Kaluga for 43 years. Therefore, all the New Year’s decorations in Kaluga are dedicated to the space. One of the main symbols of the holiday is a snowflake. In Kaluga, the satellite is inscribed in the snowflake.
The festive events will run until January 9, 2021.
