Lomonosov Moscow State University: Russia's oldest and main university celebrates 270 years

Lomonosov Moscow State University is the first, oldest, main and most famous Russian university in the world.

It opened thanks to the first Russian academician Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov and now proudly bears his name.

Moscow State University was founded in 1765. In 2025, it celebrates its 270th anniversary.

The university's main building has become a symbol of Russian science.
