The exhibition titled 'Being in step with epoch,' dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's Artist of the USSR, the world-famous Azerbaijani composer and teacher Kara Karayev, opened in the Russian National Music Museum in Moscow.
The event was organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia, with the participation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijan State Museum of Musical Culture, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the ROSIZO State Museum and Exhibition Center, JSC Firma Melodiya, the State Central Film Museum, the Museum of the Bolshoi Theater, the Taganrog Art Museum and the composer's family.
The central exhibit of the exhibition was a portrait of Karaev, painted by his friend, People's Artist of the USSR Tahir Salahov.
