Sasyk Siwash is the biggest salt lake of Crimea, it is located between the towns of Evpatoria and Saki. Even in 1912, the healing properties of salt contained in it were noted at the Paris Exposition.
The lake was a shallow bay at one time, but as a result of storms and winds a sand dam formed.
