The Ahtynsky Local History Museum

The Ahtynsky museum takes a special place among the cultural institutions of Dagestan. In the Soviet times, it was recognized the best rural museum of the Soviet Union, and now it is considered one of the best rural museums in Russia.

The first museum in Dagestan was opened in Makhachkala in 1935. And in 1937, the director of the local school in Ahty, Nurudinov Daglarov, opened the Ahtinsky local history museum. The museum has developed its own dynastic tradition - the representatives of the Daglarovs are running the museum for three gemerations - from father to son.
