The victims of the Beslan terrorist attack were remembered today in Moscow. 21 years have passed since those terrible days, but the wound from the tragedy has not healed.
A memorial service for the victims was traditionally held at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kulishki, which is part of the Alan Patriarchal Metochion in Moscow. Following the service, a ceremony was held to lay flowers at the monument to the victims of the tragedy. Participants then released white balloons into the sky in memory of those lost.
Let us recall that on September 1, 2004, terrorists seized school No. 1 in Beslan (North Ossetia). 318 hostages died, including 186 children. Since 2005, September 3 has been celebrated in Russia as the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism
