12th meeting of International Discussion Club ‘Valdai’

The 12th meeting of the International Discussion Club ‘Valdai’ was held in Sochi from October 19th to 22nd. This year the central theme of the meeting was titled ‘War and Peace: the man, the state and the threat of large conflict in the 21st century.’ In the framework of the meetings, experts and political scientists from 30 countries considered various aspects of the perception of the issues of peace and war in the public mind and in the sphere of international relations, religion and economic cooperation between the states during the individual sessions. The work of the club was divided into the following sessions – economic, diplomatic, military and political. A separate session was dedicated to the most pressing global issue of today – the situation in the Middle East.
