Majority of Russians regard weather forecasts as accurate
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA poll conducted by the Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) said that most of the respondents (54%) regularly check weather forecasts. 27% of the respondents check it only sometimes. 70% of people aged over 60 and only 24% of those aged between 18 and 21 watch meteorological forecasts on a daily basis.
Two-thirds of the survey participants (67%) noted that in most cases, weather forecasts turn out to be accurate (75% among those who regularly monitor weather reports), 30% disagree.
56% of the respondents said they trust weather forecast. At the same time, those who regularly monitor forecasts have a confidence level almost twice as high (65%) as those who do not care about such information (35%).
The poll was conducted among 1200 Russian people on July 16-17.
