More than 50 thousand people died in Turkish earthquakes

As of March 20, 50.1 thousand people died in Türkiye as a result of a powerful earthquake.

The earthquake that rocked Türkiye on February 6 killed 50,096 people, Yunus Sezer, head of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), said.

He added that the number of victims exceeded the number of people died by more than two times. It is currently 107,204 people.

The natural disaster struck southeast Türkiye early Monday morning, six weeks ago. The damage is assessed in 11 Turkish provinces, as well as in Syria.
