Iran proposed holding direct talks with US, E3 and IAEA

Iran wants representatives of the E3 and IAEA to attend a meeting with the US delegation, the Iranian government reported. The Islamic Republic noted that it had already made a similar proposal to the United States.

Iran has approached the US with a proposal to hold direct talks jointly with the E3 and IAEA representatives, Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani announced on October 1.

She noted that the only person not present at the meeting was US Presidential Special Representative Steven Witkoff.

According to Mohajerani, Tehran proposed to the E3 to delay the launch of the snapback mechanism restoring international anti-Iranian sanctions for 45 days, but this proposal was ultimately rejected due to Israeli pressure.
