Iran announces live-fire exercises in Strait of Hormuz

Iran plans to conduct military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reports. They begin tomorrow and will last two days.

Tomorrow, Iran will begin military drills in the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reports.

The drills will include live-fire exercises and will continue for two days not only in the Strait of Hormuz but also in the adjacent areas of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

Details of the upcoming exercises are not yet known.

In response to the announcement of the drills, the US Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM) issued a warning against dangerous maneuvers, such as flying over US military ships or allowing Iranian speedboats to approach them if there is a risk of collision.
