Turkish lawmaker proposes bill recognizing Khojaly genocide
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA member of the Turkish Parliament from the Turkish National Movement Party, Sinan Ogan, has proposed the country's parliament to adopt a law recognizing the Khojaly genocide, Trend reports on Wednesday.
The bill also envisages erecting a memorial to genocide victims in such Turkish cities as Kars, Ardahan, Agri, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Kocaeli and Manisa.
The lawmaker also proposed renaming Ankara's Paris Street to Khojaly Street.
A genocide was allegedly carried out by Armenian military forces in Khojaly on February 26, 1992.
