Russia to sell T-90s to Algeria, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussia will sell about 150 T-90s to Algeria and Turkmenistan, Vedomosti reports.
The two contracts are worth at least $0.5 billion. A contract on sales of 10 T-90s to Turkmenistan was fulfilled in 2010. Algeria received 185 T-90s in 2009.
The contract with Algeria is part of a package of contracts worth over $1 billion. The contracts were signed as instability in Tunisia and Egypt and war in Libya were starting.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and Rosoboronexport (the Russian state company for arms exports) signed a contract on purchases of T-90s, APA reports.
No details on the contract have been given.
T-90s are built at the Uralvagonzavod Science-Industrial Enterprise.
