Turkish ruling party loses majority in parliament
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAccording to the official report of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey, Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party has won the parliamentary elections but lost its single-party majority.
Turkey's ruling party won 40.8% of the vote or 256 seats in parliament, the leftist Republican People's Party (CHP) gathered 25.2% or 133 seats, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) – 16.5% or 83 seats in parliament, and the Democratic People's Party (HDP) – 12.9% of the vote or 78 seats.
Voter turnout was 84%. The final results will be published by the electoral commission after any possible appeals are reviewed.
