According to the official report of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey, Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party has won the parliamentary elections but lost its single-party majority.
Turkey's ruling party won 40.8% of the vote or 256 seats in parliament, the leftist Republican People's Party (CHP) gathered 25.2% or 133 seats, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) – 16.5% or 83 seats in parliament, and the Democratic People's Party (HDP) – 12.9% of the vote or 78 seats.
Voter turnout was 84%. The final results will be published by the electoral commission after any possible appeals are reviewed.
