Egypt's new parliament to hold its first session
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaToday Egypt is hosting the first session of its parliament since 2012. Elections to the new Legislative Assembly took place in October-November last year.
In early December the electoral commission of Egypt published data according to which independent candidates received 316 seats, deputies from parties – 239. Most of the seats went to the pro-presidential secular bloc 'With Love to Egypt' – 120 seats according to party lists.
Salafis from the party 'Al-Nour', considered to be second in popularity, only got 12 seats, RIA Novosti reported.
