New Arab League Secretary General promises to strengthen its role as regional organization

The Council of Ministers of the Arab League yesterday voted unanimously in favor of 73-year-old Egypt's foreign minister Aboul Gheit.
The current Secretary General Nabil el-Araby said last month that he would not seek another term after his current one ends on July 1, RIA Novosti reminds.
