ArmenianReport Website heavy criticized foreign journalists who worked in Armenia and tried to assess developments happening there objectively. This time, they were Russian Alexei Romanov and American Patrick Lancaster.
Romanov turned out to be guilty for extension of condolences to the Azerbaijani people on the day of another anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy. Moreover, he said that he felt tiredness and apathy in Armenia that went against the revenge idea. ArmeniaReport suggested an original punishment for Romanov: he must go back to the country of birth “to see and show the world deepening poverty and benightedness of Russia which drinks and escapes from small towns and villages.”
Lancaster was accused of making a video report about a meeting of Armenian soldiers’ parents in front of the Defense Ministry of Armenia, who demanded their children not to be sent to Karabakh. ArmenianReport called not to wash their dirty linen in public as such reports could work for Baku’s benefits. However, that wasn’t the only sin of the American journalist. In other report, Lancaster talked to a man who was called by the Armenian website “insane.” He reasoned about Jews, Holocaust, and Hitler. ArmenianReport justified Armenians’ grievance against Israel by the fact that it “equipped Azerbaijan with its best weapons; it meant the Jewish state was directly responsible for the slaughter that our enemies committed during the war.” It’s a very weird conclusion. Furthermore, it was not the only guilt of Israel in Armenia’s eyes. Israeli medical workers who came to Azerbaijan under YAŞAT Foundation initiative to diagnose and carry out surgeries on war veterans turned out to be guilty as well – they didn’t come to Armenia.
The complicated report about Jews and Hitler reduced to a question whether Hitler fascists could be compared to Armenian nationalists or not. Indeed, could they?
An answer to the question should be based only on facts. Recently, Vestnik Kavkaza has visited liberated territories of Azerbaijan where the work on recovery of the devastated region is going on. Vestnik’s reporters visited destroyed Aghdam, Fizuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan, and recorded scales of destruction committed by the occupation forces of the Armenian army in Azerbaijani cities. They saw destroyed Druzhba Spring in Jabrayil, a destroyed memorial complex dedicated to the Great Patriotic War in Zangilan District, a deforested and half-burnt garden which used to take 140 hectares: 20 ha in the Armenian territory and 120 ha in the Azerbaijani territory.
Armenian nationalists turned out to be crueler than Hitler fascists in a way. They not only destroyed forests and houses but also planted mines in the occupied territories. Common people will continue to die there.
ArmenianReport accused Lancaster of showing an “insane” Armenian. However, where were sane Armenians when their insane compatriots committed vandalism in the occupied territories? Why did they keep silence about committed atrocities for 30 years? Why didn’t they raise their voice to be heard by all sane people despite their ethnicity?
