German Foreign Ministry: "We warn about possible legal consequences of visiting Nagorno-Karabakh"

The German Foreign Ministry responded to a request from the Alumniportal Aserbaidschan student online platform related to an illegal visit of a German citizen, a member of the European Parliament Martin Sonneborn to the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, occupied by Armenia. The response of the German Foreign Ministry indicates that it clearly stated its position regarding trips to Nagorno-Karabakh without an appropriate permission of the Azerbaijani authorities and possible criminal consequences of them.

However, it's noted that the Foreign Ministry of Germany is not able to influence members of local parliaments, Bundestag and the European Parliament. "That is why the Foreign Ministry is not able to influence MPs' visits, except for providing them with the information," the document says.

It should be noted that the official website of the German Foreign Ministry says that Germany doesn't recognize the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic", and a consular support cannot be provided to German citizens in this and other occupied regions of Azerbaijan. Moreover, it is mentioned that a trip to Nagorno-Karabakh without permission of the Azerbaijani government is a violation of the Azerbaijani legislation and always results in a ban on entry into the country. The German Foreign Ministry strongly recommends its citizens to refrain from traveling to Nagorno-Karabakh.

A German comedian married to an Armenian woman, Martin Sonneborn, who represents a marginal party called Die Partei in the European Parliament, has recently visited the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Sonneborn presents his party as "a mockery of a party." Thus it is logical that he visited the "NKR" — a mockery of a state.

It's noteworthy that along with Sonneborn, a member of the Christian Social People's Party of Luxembourg Frank Engel who is also married to an Armenian also acts as an active lobbyist for the separatists. It seems that the bedroom diplomacy under the slogan of “Haykanush, close your eyes and think about Armenia” is actively used by the Armenian side today in the same way as before.

In addition to clownish parties and submissive German politiciansa, separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh, under the supervision of the Republic of Armenia, work with German neo-Nazis from the right-wing radical party Alternative for Germany. Therefore, to this day, all German “guests of Nagorno-Karabakh” are either clowns or those who support Nazis.
