Why "Azadliq" tries to tarnish repution of "Tavisupleba"?

A reports about clashes that allegedly occurred a few days ago in the Georgian town of Gardabani between local Azerbaijanis and representatives Svans community, , Georgian sub-ethnos, caused wide resonance in journalist circles and social networks. This report was published by Azerbaijani branch of Radio Liberty - "Azadliq", which in turn cited Public Television of Georgia. However, Public Television of Georgia managment immediately denied "news" about Georgian-Azerbaijani clashes in Gardabani.

It's noteworthy that this information appeared at the time when leaders of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey launched the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which will determine the future of the entire region for many years, and maybe decades to come.

Even though its unusual, the situation is pretty clear: there's no doubt that "news" about clashes in Gardabani were an absolute lie. If something like that really happened in this town, located near the capital, immediately after municipal elections in October, all Georgian television channels, including opposition media, would talk about it. But nothing like that happened, and it's not clear who wanted to spread "fake news" during an extermemy important event for two neighboring and friendly countries.

The saddest thing is, judging by the results of investigation conducted by haqqin.az, representatives of Azerbaijani branch of Radio Liberty tried to blame their colleagues from Georgian branch of the same radio - "Tavisupleba". In particular, as a source in "Azadliq" told haqqin.az, a certain "video" about the incident in Gardabani was provided to them by employees of "Tavisupleb". Source said that they failed to receive additional comments on this story from Georgian branch.

However, "Tavisupleba" journalist Nino Rodonaya said that nothing like this ever happened: first of all, Georgian branch didn't spread any information or video about clashes in Gardabani and didn't give it to anyone, and second of all, Azerbaijani colleagues from "Azadliq" "didn't request anything.
