It’s shocking!

It’s huge! If the rumours about “Lokomotiv’s” coach resignation are correct and the board of directors approves the decision tomorrow, it will be a great shock for all football fans.

For the first time in the history of Russian football a president of a football club has initiated the resignation of a successful coach. Olga Smorodskaya decided to cancel the contract with Kranozhan, under whose leadership the team was defeated by Dagestan's “Anzhi”.

According to recently leaked information, Olga Smorodskaya decided that Yurich Krasnozhan is the only one responsible for the team’s mischief. She reportedly accused him of deliberately misguiding the team, in order to “pay tribute” to the Dagestani team.

The newspaper “Soviet Sport” said that, after the notorious match, Yurich Krasnozhan was even forced to undergo a lie detector check. According to rumours, Krasnozhan agreed and passed the examination.

It’s remarkable that both Smorodskaya and Krasnozhan refused to comment on the situation before the June 6th meeting of the board of directors and the official statement by the Russian Railways’ chief, Mr. Yakunin.

The same goes for “Anzhi’s” representatives. Football fans and sports commentators are deeply shocked and uncertain about the way the whole story will end.

The situation is indeed peculiar. Evidently, Olga Smorodskaya doesn’t follow the existing rules. The question is whether this is good or not.
