On June 16th 2015 the State Kremlin Palace hosted a concert in celebration of the 245th anniversary of the voluntary joining of Ingushetia with Russia. A cultural event aims to involve residents and guests of the city in the culture of the Ingush people and their unique customs and traditions, as well as to introduce the historical, cultural and artistic heritage of the Republic of Ingushetia.
"Today our Republic, our people, are having a holiday. These concert events at the Kremlin Palace are dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Ingushetia, which we celebrated on June 4th. This is the story of our people, the culture of our region, and, of course, it is our holiday ,’’ Muharbek Didigov, Federation Council member from Ingushetia, said. "But there are a lot of guests. Representatives of the North Caucasian republics, areas, and of course, this is not purely our holiday. This is a celebration of all those who participate. Strong regions mean a strong Russia. Today, the Republic of Ingushetia makes some progress in socio-economic development, and of course, this pleases us. "
In the lobby of the Kremlin Palace there was an exhibition where one could see objects of the historical, cultural and artistic heritage of the Republic of Ingushetia.
"The exhibition which we see today characterizes a profound culture. The date that we celebrate today, in fact, is a very serious one, it indicates a closer and more open relationship between the Ingush and the Russian people. We came here to support our brothers. I believe that there must be more such events," Sultan Hamzaev, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, told Vestnik Kavkaza. "In Russia we have a lot of different nations living together, we need to know their cultures, we need to know their historical roots. Here are costumes, elements of culture, which are represented here. This is very important. I believe that in terms of public format and in the issue of public diplomacy, this kind of exhibition is priceless.
I liked the fact that in addition to the historical periods of the Ingush people, there are a lot of issues of great historical value: the Chinese people, India and Egypt. That means that 200-300 years ago the Ingush people were in direct contact with many other people, but they made their choice in favor of Russia."
The Head of the Republic, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, congratulated the people of Russia and Ingushetia on this date: "I wish all our people faith and prosperity. I wish all our people to continue our sincere service for our great country, for our great Russia. I wish our people to continue keeping the oath of allegiance, which was given by our ancestors in those days, the hard times of the Great Russian Empire. And, of course, we wish prosperity to our great country, regardless of the foes that surround us. Peace to all the peoples of Russia."
A concert in honor of the unity of Ingushetia and Russia was attended by the Russian and Ingush singers.
The participants in the festival marked its cultural significance. Lev Leshchenko, People's Artist of Russia, said in an interview to Vestnik Kavkaza: "These anniversaries are very necessary today, when change is happening in the world. And we need to rally around our great Russia. I hope that today's celebration will remain in my heart and in the memory of those who today arrived in Moscow, the Ingush artists, the Ingush people, guests. Today's event is certainly very significant, and I hope that soon we will live up to the 250th anniversary, we will celebrate it in a great way as well."
Zara, the singer, said: "Russia is a multicultural country and it has great respect for every culture. Today, there is a celebration of the 245th anniversary of the peaceful accession of Ingushetia to Russia. And for me it is a great pleasure to participate in this, I have great respect and love for Ingush culture and music, I admire the beauty and chastity of the Ingush girls. Today we saw a beautiful fashion show. I wish there will be more such multinational concerts, because this is the strength of Russia."
