Azerbaijani Evening in Ramadan Tent

The Azerbaijani Evening event was held within the Ramadan Tent near the Moscow Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow. The Ramadan Tent is an annual cultural and charitable project, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow with the support of the Russian Spiritual Administration of Muslims. Everybody is welcome here, regardless of nationality and religion, to have a festive dinner, listen to music or learn something new.

Evenings of the national republics of Russia, as well as of former Soviet Union and other foreign countries, business events and activities for kids are held in the Tent.

Traditionally, the Azerbaijani Evening event and the iftar are organized on the initiative of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, whose activities were marked by a letter of gratitude from the muftiat.

Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy Vugar Imamaliev congratulated everyone with the beginning of the month of Ramadan, thanking the organizers of the charity project, as well as Leyla Aliyeva.

The event was attended by head of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF – ERC) Elchin Askerov. "The main goal of the Youth Forum’s work is dialogue and cooperation among the youth movements of the organization’s member countries, dialogue and cooperation among young people of different cultures, religions and civilizations. I am very pleased to say that Azerbaijan initiated the creation of this organization in 2004," Elchin Askerov said.

General Director of the Zakyat Foundation Rifat Izmailov recalled the need to help your neighbor. "We as believers should create a trend of charity, because by showing others a concept of charity, generosity, we make the world around us better and kinder, we make the world around us completely different. And our foundation, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and other foundations strive for this, showing a personal example of what can be done for good," Rifat Ismailov said.

The guests of the event were told about the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.

The festive dinner was attended by public figures, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, leaders of diaspora organizations. Azerbaijan's national music and Samir Salamov's songs were performed at the evening.

Pupils of the Muslim school 'Risalyat' staged an instructive sketch and read poems:

My native land, Azerbaijan,

Given me from birth!

I love its picturesque lands,

Its quiescent gardens in a hot afternoon.

My country, the country of freedom

With sparkling Caspian waters.

Allah has blessed you

It gave you warm and wealth,

And the song goes out like a stream

About my glorious homeland!
