Previously they performed in the age group of 12-18 years. This was the first time in the history of the Azerbaijani acrobatics at world level competitions.

Another mixed couple from Azerbaijan, Abdullah Al-Meshayhi and Ruhidil Gurbanli, made their first appearance in  competitions of this scale and also showed good results. They scored 53.100 points in a sum of two competitions in the qualifying rounds, but they lost to a couple from Spain, as according to the rules of the competitions, only one couple from any country can participate in the finals.
