Business Insider: "Russia and China were able to seize the initiative on the development of relation

The analytical publication Business Insider wrote that Europe risks losing the benefit of the cooperating with Iran to Russia and China. Recently, the European community is watching with interest for the Iran’s potential business transactions  after the agreement on the nuclear program of the country. The Iranian economy is twice more than the economy of the UAE, in addition, the state has considerable development potential. After decades of the sanctions Iran's reserves of oil and gas have become  a gold mine for the world community. The European companies expect that they will be in the forefront of the ‘gold rush’ in view of the lesser confrontation with Iran over, for example,  the United States. In addition, Europe has been a major exporter of the Iranian oil in the period before the sanctions. And if Iran will return to the world market, the EU will be able to reduce its dependence on the Russian energy resources. The Iranian oil and gas industry, in turn, requires a huge investment that Europe can provide.

However, apparently, while the European leaders have been making plans for future cooperation with Iran, they lost sight of the fact that other competitors had already  established partnerships with the Iranian government. Russia and China, being more active in terms of strategic and economic planning, were able to seize the initiative on the development of relations with Iran. Moscow supports Iran in the fight against ISIS, and in addition, Russia has been a key state in favor of the signing of the agreement on the nuclear program of Iran.

In turn, China needs energy resources.  The Sino-Iranian trade reached $ 44 billion dollars only in 2014, which is almost a third of the total foreign trade of Iran. And most likely, for Europe it will be difficult to compete with Russia and China for a leading position in  relations with Iran. In addition, Iran is much more likely to  trust in reliable partners who supported the state even during the sanctions than those countries that have refused the partnership with the government, for fear of the response from the United States.

The US political magazine Foreign Affears wrote that it is  time for Washington to change the  tactics against Russia. Of course, Russia's economy has suffered over the last year, but the damage was done by low oil prices, rather than Western sanctions. Another reason that the measures imposed by the United States and Europe have been ineffective, is that Moscow could use counter sanctions as toward Washington, and in relation to Brussels as well. The NATO attempts of the military pressure on the Kremlin, too, have no result, as the military potential of Russia, according to analysts, is much higher then the American one.

The more the West puts pressure on Russia, the more he feels  pressure. The only way out of confrontation today is to decide on the rapprochement with Moscow, but this will be necessary for Washington to abandon its plan for world domination, and stop pressuring Europe, thereby allowing the union to build relations with the Kremlin independently. In the case of such developments, the geopolitical situation in the world will change for the better and the world community will have a chance to confront the threat of terrorism expansion. To date, however, the situation does not change, and the West continues are worsening relations with Russia, insisting that  a new phase of the Cold War has begun. It is obvious that in such a confrontation Moscow prevails, because of the powerful partners, while Washington is almost defeated in strategic and economic terms.
