Business Insider: "Turkey: how political power has been replaced by military dictatorship"

The British analytical publication Market Oracle wrote that the US Pentagon has alternative plans for war with Russia. The long-term course of US foreign policy has been aimed at regime change in all the independent countries of the world with the help of ‘color’ revolutions, wars, which have been designed, in particular, against Russia, China, Iran and Venezuela so as to eliminate major rivals and have access to the global resources, particularly to oil. There are military plans in the Pentagon, which are updated when necessary, against all these countries. The Office is ready for action at any time, taking the risk of unleashing a world war.

On September 18th the US magazine Foreign Policy published an article that says the Defense Department is reviewing and updating plans in the event of an armed conflict with Russia for the first time since the collapse of the USSR, meaning the Kremlin is no longer a partner, but a threat to US national security. The renewed plan provides for two scenarios: a response to a threat from the Russian side with the forces of the NATO member countries, or a unilateral answer. Both versions presuppose the existence of hypothetical ‘Russian aggression’ in the Balkans, including the possibility of a hybrid war and unconventional methods of warfare.

However, all the statements about a threat from the Russian side have no basis. The spreading of disinformation is an old tactic of the United States, focused on increasing military spending to attract allies and to distract US society from really serious internal problems: the austerity policies, the lack of jobs and the inequality of provision of social services to all segments of the population.

Such anti-Russian propaganda hides the real threat that prevails in the world today: NATO expansion in the Eastern European countries, as well as acts of provocation on the border with Russia, which cause a defensive reaction from the Kremlin. The USA risks unleashing World War III in the search for external enemies, and the balanced foreign policy of Russia and its allies is the only obstacle to war today.

The US political publication Business Insider wrote that Turkey is facing another problem and does not know how to deal with it. The situation in the east of Turkey is getting out of control: the activists of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have brought their supporters onto the streets, and the Turkish security forces do not know what tools to use against them. A critical question is being discussed in Ankara: to what extent is it possible to fight civilians by military means? Many cities in eastern Turkey have been completely blockaded by the security forces, the military are allowed to use ball cartridges to quell protests and shoot those who violate the curfew.

Turkey's desire to join the EU will not be carried out for many years in such circumstances of a long-standing political crisis. The resumption of the war with the Kurdish PKK raises questions in the international community about how political power has been replaced by military dictatorship. The violation of democratic norms by the Turkish leadership in relation to the Kurdish population and with respect to the upcoming early parliamentary elections shows that the path on which the Turkish Republic remains will lead to even more victims and aggravate the already precarious economic situation in the state in the near future.
