Delegation of leaders of Israeli cities visited Baku to participate in the Days of Israel organized by the AzIs Association in Azerbaijan. The cultural program of the Days of Israel began on October 2 at the Maksud Ibragimbekov Creativity Center, where children's musical and poetry evening was held with participation of the winner of the Nasimi 650 international poetry contest held in Israel this May. 8-year-old Israeli boy, native of St. Petersburg Kostya Vararu won this contest. He wrote a poem dedicated to his father’s friend, hero of the Karabakh war, Sahil Mammadov. Kostya received a trip to Baku as a prize.
During musical and poetic evening, children of the Yaradan society, who are working in the studio of the Maksud Ibragimbekov Creativity Center and were inspired by Kostya’s poems, prepared an exhibition of drawings on the Karabakh topic, as well as musical numbers and recitations.
Pupils of the Baku Jewish school read poems dedicated to the martyr, hero of the Karabakh war, Albert Agarunov.
Hero of the Karabakh war Sahil Mammadov, who attended the evening, thanked children for their work and wished them future success.
Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Israel, Yeghyana Salman, highlighted "wonderful, inspiring aura" of the Maksud Ibragimbekov Creativity Center, as well as the fact that "Azerbaijani land has always been rich with talents and generously sent its ambassadors - carriers of Azerbaijani culture - to the world."
By the end of the evening, pianist Vyusal Aydamirov and tarist Ibrahim Babayev performed musical composition “Karabakh”, and poet and playwrighter Leila Begim read her touching poem dedicated to the children.
Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov thanked director of the Maksud Ibragimbekov Creativity Center Anna Ibragimbekova and the AzIs organization for hosting this event. He also expressed his gratitude to Leila Begim - for creating poetic background for the evening with participation of Azerbaijani diaspora - children and the entire creative team for their heartfelt performances.
head of the Icheri Sheher department Asker Alekperov and director general of the AzIs Lev Spivak were among the guests of the evening.
