‘In a break in the clouds’ for Nikolai Zinoviev

In Moscow the concert hall of the Cinema Club ‘Eldar’ hosted a charity event under the title ‘In a break in the clouds’, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the poet Nikolai Zinoviev. The well-known Soviet and Russian poet Nikolai Zinoviev is the author of more than two hundred songs, eight collections of poems, and many books published at home and abroad, as well as multiple winner of the festival ‘Song of the Year.’ For ten years he has been overcoming the serious illness of Parkinson's disease. The diagnosis is lifelong and incurable, which requires constant medical support. Many of the poet’s close friends and colleagues came to this event to wish the People’s poet happy birthday.

“When I was on my way to the concert, I was thinking that such is life, perhaps everything comes full circle. I was here and sang here. Now there is a joyful evening dedicated to Nikolai Zinoviev, it is a very big festival for us, so we are here,” Birute Pitrikite, Lithuanian pop star, a participant of ‘Song of the Year’ in 1979 and 1981, says.

The charity concert featuring pop stars was organized with the assistance of the business community ‘Confidence of business is the future of Russia’

Yulia Potapova, project manager of the project, said: “We have an anniversary evening of Nikolai Zinovyev who turned 70 years old this year. His wife, Elena Borzova, starred in the film ‘Let It Be’, and she told us about her husband’s disease. We came to the conclusion that entrepreneurs, our partners in the project, we can all come together and make a celebration for this man.”

Elena Borzova, theater and film actress, laureate of the USSR State Prize, said that due to the film called ‘Let It Be’, she met great actors, who responded immediately: “Everyone loves and remembers Kolya, his poems and songs. And they came from different corners of our vast country, came to the concert to support Nikolai Nikolaevich in his health, in his condition, mentally, psychologically. I am very grateful for them that they are unselfish and responded with all their hearts.”
