“Kholop” tells the story of Grisha, son of a wealthy businessman living an amazing life, thinking that everything will be handed to him on a silver plater. After committing a crime and facing prison time, his father decides to take extreme measures to correct his son's behaviour. Together with his old psychologist friend, he comes up with a unique project: They recreate the atmosphere of nineteenth century Russia at an abandoned village. Grisha gets into a fake road accident and thinks that he's now in the past. In fact, it's a sophisticated psychological experiment - a spoiled rich kid is turned into an ordinary servant Grisha, who lives in a crib on the territory of a manor estate. He is surrounded by actors whose goal is to change his life and personality. His every movements is closely monitored by a team of psychologists using multiple cameras. Grisha will have to learn to properly communicate with people again, appreciate simple life, work, and also find true love.
The fild was released on December 26, 2019, and grossed 303 million rubles during the first weekend. On the second week, it's revenue reached 501 million rubles.
The film by Klim Shipenko starred Alexandra Bortich, Alexander Samoilenko, Ivan Okhlobystin, Maria Mironova, Oleg Komarov, Olga Dibtseva, Kirill Nagiyev, Sergey Sotserdotsky, Sofia Zaika, and the main role was played by the Serbian actor Milos Bikovich, who previously starred in Nikita Mikhalkov’s film “Sun Stroke”, as well as various Russian films and series.
