Middle East Online: "Israel chooses to ally with Russia"

The international publication Middle East Online wrote that Israel is more inclined to side with Russia in the Turkish-Russian conflict. All the evidence suggests that after the Russian bomber was shot down, Israel is trying to find a common language with the Kremlin, not supporting the position of their Turkish colleagues.

The relations between Israel and Turkey began deteriorating even earlier, before the incident with the Russian plane, after the terrorist attacks in Paris in mid-November. The state decided to actively participate in the anti-terrorist opposition, and for that it needed to enlist the support of Russia in the first place. In addition, Tel Aviv sees the threat posed by Turkey, which has been repeatedly expressed in the form of anti-Zionist statements. That is why the alliance with Russia is the most appropriate for the Israeli leadership.

The parties emphasize their strategic and military-technical cooperation, as well as the excellent coordination in the field of security between the two countries. In addition, Russia, unlike Turkey, does not consider the Palestinian issue weighty enough to worsen relations with Israel. This is contrary to the position of Turkey, which is in friendly relations with the Palestinian leadership, making it clear to Israel that its position in relation to the neighboring country is not the only correct one.

That is why Israel chooses to ally with Russia. A desire to keep the peace in the Middle East has overcome domestic interests, which in turn allows the necessary balance of power in the region to be maintained. Despite the fact that the relations between Russia and Turkey are extremely tense at the moment, this situation proves once again the correctness of the Kremlin, that finds support in the face of old and new partners.

The International publication OZY Media wrote about the growing partnership between Russia and the countries of Africa. International analysts have concluded that in recent years relations between the Kremlin and African countries reached an entirely new level. In general, trade has increased more than tenfold over the past decade. Exports increased from $950 million to $4 billion, while imports from Africa increased from $350 million to $1.6 billion. For Russia as a country, which is one of the world's leading powers, the African region is very important.

In fact, the growing economic importance of Africa cannot be overemphasized at the moment. In the next five years 8 countries on the continent will enter the 10 fastest-growing economies in the world and in the next 15 years its GDP is expected to reach that of Eastern Europe. In addition, some of the largest untapped reserves of minerals, oil and gas in the world are located on the African continent.

The revival of relations between Russia and Africa has already had a positive political impact. Features of the African continent are very attractive for Russian investors. Unlike other countries, Russia has an advantage in its relations with Africa. Since the days of the Cold War, when the United States raged on African soil and the African independence movement fought for freedom from colonial powers, Moscow has created an extensive network of political and economic ties with African countries. Against the background of increasingly growing Russian relations in different regions of the world, it is clear that the days of US global domination are coming to an end, while Moscow is paving the way to the forefront of the international political arena.
