Militants in Syria are moving from radical to more moderate factions

The information that Russia and the West are discussing federalization as an opportunity to save Syria's territorial integrity is not true, Russian President's special representative for the Middle East and North Africa, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told TASS. "We do not express such ideas. The question of the polity should be solved by the Syrians themselves, they have to draw up a constitution for their own country and to determine what the power system will be there. We believe that this is the best way to preserve the unity of the territory and the people,’’ Bogdanov said.

Meanwhile, as suggested by a member of the Defense and Security Committee of the Federation Council, Dmitry Sablin, the problems of Syria, Ukraine and anti-Russian sanctions are linked. ‘’Any terrorist group, whether ISIS or Jabhat-al-Nusra has the special services of various countries behind them. As soon as Russia announced the beginning of the operation of its aerospace forces, more than 1000 ATGM 'TOW', 'Stinger' portable air defense systems and so on immediately appeared on Syrian territory. As soon as we started to block the Turkish-Syrian border, immediately the voices of the human rights defenders were heard. It remains a green area, there are constant convoys of weapons from Turkey. For the Syrian government forces it is now difficult to respond to the movement of terrorist-militants changing their localities, moving from radical to more moderate groups."

Meanwhile, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 42 armed groups have reaffirmed their commitment to the implementation and adoption of the conditions of the cessation of hostilities.

However, the ceasefire is constantly being disrupted by terrorists. So yesterday the militants who consider themselves to belong to the opposition formations ‘Liva Sultan Murad’ and ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ thrice opened mortar fire on the Kurdish People's Protection Units in the bloc of Sheikh Maksoud in Aleppo. In the 'Ain Dakna’ bloc indiscriminate fire from artillery systems made artisanal was conducted. During the shelling of the village of Kinsibba (province of Latakia) militias used multiple rocket launchers. The town of Foix (province of Idlib) was shelled once again. During the day, the militants of Jabhat al-Nusra twice opened fire on it. The Russian and Syrian Air Forces are not shelling the opposition armed groups that have announced a cessation of hostilities.
